Bridge Honored with Two Awards
Community Memorial Foundation awarded Bridge Communities with two awards on February 16th, 2010. Bridge was among 49 suburban Chicago non-profit organizations to be awarded $7,500 matching challenge grant due to their increased and new charitable contributions. Through a partnership with Community Memorial Foundation, these 49 organizations helped infuse $1.5 million new charitable dollars into Chicago western suburbs in the last four months of 2009. And given our troubling economy – this is quite a feat.
Bridge Communities was also honored as the only recipient of the “Most Engaged Board Award.” Bridge has worked very hard throughout the past three years to energize and engage our board of directors in all aspects of governing and development of Bridge Communities. The board of directors has risen to this calling through the development of a very thorough committee structure, 100% participation in fund development and the creation of very strong policies and procedures that will effectively govern Bridge well into the future.
We thank Community Memorial Foundation for its commitment to providing guidance, funding and expertise to our communities non-profit agencies. The partnership has strengthen not only Bridge, but the entire network of agencies stretched across the western suburbs.
Bridge also thanks its board of directors for their tireless work on behalf of the families served.
